Rabbi Avrohom Kanarek grew up in Brooklyn, NY. He learned in Yeshivas Rabeinu Yitzchok Elchonon under Rabbi Hershel Shachter shlita. Rabbi Kanarek served as a Rebbe in Yeshiva University High School and later became Menahel of Yeshiva Tifereth Moshe in Queens, NY. Afterward, he became Rav at Congregation Beth Tefillah in Paramus for eight years and an associate Principal at Yeshiva of North Jersey. Rabbi Kanarek came to Atlanta in 2002 to become the Menahel at Yeshiva Ohr Yisrael. He is married to Rena Kanarek who has worked in Chinuch Habanos for over twenty years.
Rabbi Shimon Wiggins grew up in New Jersey and came to Yeshiva Chaim Berlin in twelfth grade. He soon developed a close and deep relationship with the Yeshiva, including the Rosh Yeshiva, Rav Ahron Shechter, which continues until this day. After thirteen rewarding years in both Beis Midrash and Kollel, Rabbi Wiggins received semicha and began teaching seventh and eighth graders at a day school in Long Island, NY.
In 1994, he moved to Atlanta to teach at the high school level. In 2000, he received a Masters in Education from Mercer University and in 2003 he was recognized as a star teacher by the Georgia Department of Education. Rabbi Wiggins has been a part of Yeshiva Ohr Yisrael since 2004.
