Yeshiva Ohr Yisrael was one of 6 schools invited to take part in the Colombus Torah Academies Baseball Invitational. Mr. Schoen and The Trojans left wednsday night, and arrived near Louisville, KY that night. They stayed in a hotel for the night, and woke up early the Thursday morning to head off to the Louisville Slugger Factory/Mueseum. The players had an interactive tour on the production of wooden baseball bats, and watched a video on the history of baseball. After that, they started the last leg of their journey to Colombus. They arrived at the campus where they were staying on Thursday afternoon, and had the first of their double header soon after. After playing two games Thursday night, the Trojans rigorous schedule brought them up early Friday morning for another game. Motzei Shabbat, the team had a playoff game vs. the undefeated Y.A. Lions another school from the Atlanta area. The game was a friendly match in which the Lions beat the Trojans. On Sunday morning, the Trojans woke up really early to play Ida Crown for the 3rd place spot. They headed home later in the day after watching the Y.A. Lions walk of win in the Championship game vs Kshner Academy.
